A Benedictine monastery on San Jose hill, built of heavy lime blocks to a design by Leandro Locsin, National Artist for architecture. The first Filipino abbot, Father Eduardo Africa, and the Malaybalay bishop of the time, Gaudencio Rosales, inaugurated it on August 6, 1983.
Ten monks work the land around it: seven hectares in rice, 25 hectares in corn and the rest in the coffee sold as Monk's Blend. The two-storey Museum of Transfiguration Monastery holds Dom Martin's collection of 50 vestments, which was part of the 1998 Philippine centennial celebration. The book on the vestments, Worship and Weave, won the 2001 National Book Award in the art category.
