About Malaybalay City
Every year the indigenous peoples of Bukidnon gather in Malaybalay for Kaamulan, which is a tribal gathering rather than a saint's day, and the difference shows in what gets worn and danced. The city is the provincial capital and bills itself the South Summer Capital of the Philippines, the highlands making their case against Baguio. In the late 1800s it was a municipal district of Misamis Oriental.
