Jimenez Church
A Baroque church of the late 19th century, declared a National Cultural Treasure in 2001. It stands at Barangay Nacional and serves the parish of Saint John the Baptist, under the Archdiocese of Ozamis.
The town around it is one of the best preserved colonial towns in the country, and the local government puts its work into the church and the ancestral houses. The town is pushing for a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Jimenez was first called San Juan de Palilán, and took its present name from Fray Francisco Jiménez de San Fermín, a Recollect.
