About Misamis Occidental
Misamis Occidental is the narrow province between Panguil Bay and Iligan Bay, close enough to water everywhere that fishing sets the calendar. Oroquieta is the capital and Ozamiz the bigger city, with its cathedral and the old Spanish fort down by the pier. Tangub spends every December on lights and tableaux and has been calling itself the Christmas capital of the country for years.
