A July celebration of the blood compact between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel López de Legazpi in 1565. The two leaders cut their chests, mixed the blood with wine and drank it, and that sealed the friendship between the Spaniards and the Boholanos. Juan Luna painted the scene. The festival runs for the month, with the city's Charter Day on 1 July and Bohol's day on 22 July.
People long held that the compact took place off Bool, now a barangay of Tagbilaran. In 2006 the National Historical Institute put a marker at Villalimpia in Hinawanan Bay, Loay, which gives the date as 25 March 1565 and the place as the Spanish ship San Pedro.
