Biliran Watchtower
A coastal watchtower put up in 1765 to watch for Muslim raiding boats. The Filipino priest Gaspar Ignacio de Guevara started the work. In 1774 the raiders came anyway, attacked the settlement and burned it, tower included.
The ruin was rebuilt in 2000 from its own original materials, and in 2008 the National Historical Institute, now the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, set a historical marker on it. It also carries the name Nasunugan Watchtower.
