Alimodian calls itself the Banana Capital of Western Visayas and claims the sweetest fruit in the region, which is not a title a town gives up quietly. It grows strawberries too, along with maize, mangoes and root crops. Kinaray-a is spoken here beside Hiligaynon, and 39,814 people live in the 51 barangays.
