About Region VI (Western Visayas)
Western Visayas is Panay and Guimaras, and it holds the two things most visitors arrive for: Boracay, which Aklan governs, and the Guimaras mangoes that Ilonggos will tell you are the sweetest anywhere. Aklan, Antique, Capiz and Iloilo share the big island, with Iloilo City as the regional centre and the home of La Paz batchoy. Kalibo runs Ati-Atihan every January and half the country copies it.
