About Oton

Oton was founded in 1572, the second Spanish settlement in the country after Cebu, and from there it once governed Panay, Guimaras, Negros, Tablas, Sibuyan and Romblon. It is now the most populous municipality in Iloilo and on Panay as a whole, 99,920 people, and still officially a town rather than a city.
