San Joaquin Church
A church in southern Iloilo whose stone pediment shows a battle: the Spanish victory over the Moors at Tetouan. The Augustinians completed it in 1869. Inside are three retablos carved from limestone, which once carried paint. Next to the church stand the ruins of the convent, with the well and the kiln that were used for baking.
The National Museum of the Philippines declared the church a National Cultural Treasure in 2001, and the declaration covers the convent ruins. The parish holds its fiesta on 19 January.
