About Balayan
Balayan roasts pigs and then parades them. Every June 24 the town dresses its lechon and carries it through the streets for Saint John the Baptist, which is as good a reason as any to be in Batangas that week. The rest of the year it is one of the bigger municipalities in the province, with close to 97,000 people and no city charter.
