Molino Dam
A gravity dam on the Zapote River, built by hand in the 19th century to water the rice fields of Bacoor and Las Piñas. It sits on the city boundary, between Barangay San Nicolas I in Bacoor and Barangay Talon Dos in Las Piñas. People also call it the Prinza dam.
The walls are adobe, braced by buttresses, and parts of the floor are cobble stone. Balete trees and bamboo have grown into the fabric and hold it together. The dam lifted the upper Zapote River three storeys, up to the level of the fields, and it kept the fresh water above it out of the salt water below. Ezekiel Moreno, an Augustinian Recollect, won a budget of 3,926 pesos in 1885 to rebuild the wall after a drought. The crossing now works as a footbridge between the two cities.
