About Ternate
Ternate is named after an island in Indonesia, which is not something the rest of Cavite can claim. Migrants from Ternate in the then Dutch East Indies settled here when the place was called Bahra, and the town still prints a Chavacano version of its name. Around 24,900 people live in it.
