Mount Pulag
The highest peak in Luzon at 2,926 metres, famous for a sea of clouds at dawn above the dwarf bamboo. Permits and a guide are required. It is the third highest mountain in the country and the second most prominent, and three provinces meet at its summit: Benguet, Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya.
Climbers who get up before first light also come for the view of the Milky Way. The mountain is sacred to the Ibaloi and the other peoples of the area, who hold it to be the resting ground of their souls and the home of the tinmongao spirits.
