About Aurora

Surfing in the Philippines started at Baler, where the crew of Apocalypse Now left their boards behind in the 1970s and the locals picked them up. Baler is the capital of Aurora, a long strip of Pacific coast with eight towns and no chartered city at all, the only province in Central Luzon without one. Maria Aurora, the single landlocked town, has the most people.
