Bataan National Park

no rating yet ♥ 2

A protected forest in the mountainous interior of northern Bataan. People come to watch birds and wildlife and to trek to the peaks and waterfalls inside it. Pasukulan Falls and Dunsulan Falls are both here, along with ground orchids and wild monkeys.

The park covers Mount Natib, a dormant stratovolcano and caldera in the Zambales Mountains, protected since 1945. The caldera is forested and measures 6 by 7 kilometres. The park now takes in 23,688 hectares across seven towns and cities, from Hermosa and Orani to Bagac and Morong, and lies 101 kilometres from Manila. Its mountains can be seen across Manila Bay from the capital. BirdLife International lists it as an Important Bird Area.
