About Balagtas
Balagtas was Bigaa until it took the name of Francisco Balagtas, who wrote Florante at Laura and was born here. Generations of Filipino students have had to memorise lines of it. The town now holds about 80,200 people, in the part of Bulacan that Metro Manila keeps growing into.
