About Santa Maria

Santa Maria is the largest municipality in Bulacan by population, about 322,500 people, and it has been a settlement for close to four centuries. It began as a barrio of Bocaue and was made a separate town on November 26, 1793 by the Franciscan friar Francisco Dominguez Javier. Before that it went by Santa Maria de Pandi.
