About Bacarra

The bell tower at Bacarra lost its top in an earthquake and has stood beheaded ever since, which is the thing everyone photographs and the reason anybody stops. The town itself is just north of Laoag, about 32,700 people, and it is otherwise ordinary Ilocos Norte farming country.
