About Piddig

Piddig makes basi, the sugarcane wine, and it was Piddig that rose in 1807 when the Spanish took the trade over: the Basi Revolt, led by Pedro Mateo, a local. The town also has sariwagwag, gabi leaves cooked with shrimp taken fresh from the river. The town hall sits on a hill with the fields and mountains laid out below it.
