About Aringay
Aringay claims Diego Silang, the Ilocano who led the 1762 revolt against Spain, as a native son; so does neighbouring Caba, and the argument has never been settled. Past that it is a farming town on the La Union coast, rice and tobacco and fruit in the fields, with a few beach resorts on the sand.
