About Bauang

Bauang grows grapes, which is not the crop anyone expects on the Ilocos coast, and guapples besides, so it calls itself the fruit basket and beach capital of the north. It was the birthplace of Manuel Arguilla, the short story writer killed during the Japanese occupation. With 77,670 people it is the largest municipality in La Union.
