About Marinduque

For Holy Week the men of Marinduque put on carved masks and Roman centurion costumes and spend the week playing Longinus through the streets, which is the Moriones and the reason most outsiders know the island at all. It is shaped like a heart, sits between the Bondoc Peninsula and Mindoro, and has six towns. Boac is the capital and the largest of them.
