About Oriental Mindoro

Puerto Galera is where Manila goes diving, a ferry ride from Batangas and sitting on the Verde Island Passage, rated the most species-dense stretch of sea in the world. The Hanunuo Mangyan still write their ambahan poetry in their own script, one of the few pre-colonial scripts in the country still in daily use. Calapan, the capital, is the only city on Mindoro and the regional centre for Mimaropa.
