About Sofronio Española

Sofronio Española is the youngest municipality in Palawan, partitioned from Brooke's Point on June 5, 1995, with Iber Chou as its first mayor. It takes its name from a Palawan governor and congressman who had died by then. Its nine barangays hold about 39,400 people.
