About Lantawan
Lantawan gave up ten of its barangays in 2007 to make Hadji Muhtamad, and the 25 it kept are all on Basilan Island. That still leaves it one of the larger municipalities in the province, with close to 49,000 people, which says something about how big it was before the split.
