About Sitangkai

Sitangkai is the southernmost town in the Philippines, nearer to Malaysia and Indonesia than to anything in Luzon, and much of it is built over water: people move by boat, and footbridges join one house to the next. That is why it gets called the Venice of the South. Fishing and farming keep 42,172 people going, though there is very little land here to farm.
