About Montevista
Before it was Montevista the town was San Jose, and before that Caumanga, a Mandaya settlement that Japanese Imperial forces used as a headquarters during the occupation. Christian settlers arriving in the early 1950s brought the name of Saint Joseph the Worker. About 46,600 people live there now.
