About Padada

Padada is named for a mangrove tree that no longer grows there. Encroachment and indiscriminate fish farming cleared the padada from the shoreline and estuaries until it was gone. The town is the least populated in Davao del Sur, about 32,100 people, with boundaries fixed by Republic Act 1008 in June 1954.
