About Iligan City

Iligan sells itself on waterfalls, starting with Maria Cristina, whose drop has been turning the turbines that light much of Mindanao for decades. The city is the largest in Lanao del Norte and does not answer to the province, second within Northern Mindanao only to Cagayan de Oro. It was filed under Central Mindanao until 2001, when the province moved to Region X.
