The other way up Mount Apo starts at Kidapawan, the provincial capital, and the hot springs at Lake Agco are on the same road. Over in Alamada, Asik-Asik Falls pours straight out of a green cliff with no river above it. Cotabato is landlocked, still called North Cotabato by nearly everyone, and some of its barangays voted in 2019 to leave the province for Bangsamoro.
