About Roxas City

Roxas City calls itself the seafood capital of the country and puts the evidence on the table: oysters, crabs and whatever came in that morning, eaten at the sheds along Baybay Beach. The place was simply called Capiz until 1951, when it took the name of Manuel Roxas, born here, fourth president of the Philippines and first of the independent republic. It is the capital of Capiz and the largest city in the province.
