About Guimaras
Guimaras grows mangoes and does not let anyone forget it: Manggahan runs every May, and the island guards its trees closely enough that fruit and planting material from outside are kept off. It is a short ferry from Iloilo City, which is how nearly everybody arrives, and a small province of five municipalities, with Jordan as capital and Buenavista the larger town.
