About Batac City

Batac empanada is the reason to stop: orange from achuete, fried to order, stuffed with green papaya, longganisa and an egg. The city is also the Marcos hometown, and for decades the preserved body of Ferdinand Marcos lay in a mausoleum here before it was taken to Manila for burial. Ilocos Norte keeps both facts close.
