About Basilisa

Basilisa was created in 1967 under the name Rizal and renamed two years later, a quick turnaround even by Philippine standards. It is the most populous municipality in Dinagat Islands, with 27,238 people across 27 barangays, which in a province of seven towns makes it the closest thing to a centre.
