San Jose de Buenavista is the capital of Antique and its largest town, 69,522 people on 48.56 square kilometres of the southwest coast of Panay. The province does its administrative, commercial and financial business here, and residents call themselves San Josenhon. The mayor, Paul Joseph Nicopior Untaran, is the son of a former mayor.
