About Nueva Ecija
Nueva Ecija grows more rice than any other province, which is the short version of why Central Luzon is called the granary. The capital is Palayan City, named for the crop and built for the job, while Cabanatuan kept the size, the money and the traffic. Cabanatuan also makes the garlicky longganisa that people drive out of their way for, and the province has no coast at all.
